The Satanic Panic Part One
Oct 17th, 2018 by turnthatoff
In the 1980's and 1990's, a cultural phenomenon called the "Satanic Panic" brought the United States to its knees. Dozens of court cases surrounding horrific instances satanic child abuse, human sacrifice, bestiality began to surface all over the country. TV shows, books, movies and the news were claiming that satanic covens numbering in the thousands were organizing and spreading their message clandestinely through popular music, video games and Dungeons and Dragons. The problem? None of it was true. Join the Turn That Off! Podcast for our Spooky two-part Halloween edition show where the guys go over all the details.
Turn That Off! is a podcast that examines the spectacle of popular culture, exploring the bizarre relationship between humans and the (often terrible) media we consume. Please note that we regularly explore unsavory corners of the internet, and don’t condone everything we discuss.
